Compressor 280

The DOD Compressor 280 uses an electro-optical circuit—a light-dependent resistor paired with an internal LED—to vary compression amount. This opto design is prized for its smooth, natural response compared to VCA or FET-based compressors.

The 2014 reissue improved on the original with true bypass switching (the vintage version colored your bypass signal), a modern 9V DC power jack, and a lighter aluminum chassis. The simple two-knob interface—Level and Compression—makes dialing in your sound quick and intuitive.
