Riffchild
Boosted overdrive/distortion loosely based on Boss OS-2 with MOSFET output, active bass EQ, and passive treble shelf.
The Riffchild is an op-amp clipping stage loosely based on the Boss OS-2 circuit with a MOSFET output stage and active/passive EQ.
Four controls: Boost sets the MOSFET output level (unity at minimum, gets very loud), Drive controls the op-amp clipping, High is a passive treble shelf for definition, and Low is an active bell-shaped boost/cut that avoids sub-frequency mud.
Range spans from subtle boost through overdrive to over-the-top distortion. Inspired by the overdrive/distortion favored by Merrimack Valley (northeastern Massachusetts) hardcore guitarists. Parent circuit of the GCI Hannibal overdrive.
