Panther Cub V2
Analog delay with eight BBD chips. 1000ms max, tap tempo, modulation, and active EQ control.
JHS built the Panther Cub V2 to deliver authentic bucket brigade delay tones with modern functionality. The circuit uses eight discrete Xvive 3205 BBD chips to keep the signal path fully analog, maintaining the warm character and natural degradation that defines analog delay.
Delay time runs from 40ms slapback to 1000ms ambient wash. Tap tempo with four subdivisions (dotted eighth, quarter, eighth, triplet) syncs your delay to tempo without menu diving. Modulation adds vintage tape-like warble. The active EQ tilt control shapes frequency response, with noon being flat.
Six knobs control Time, Volume, Mix, Ratio, Feedback, and EQ. Side switches handle Modulation on/off and Speed. An optional internal roar switch adds extra sensitivity for oscillation control. At 67mA draw, it powers eight BBD chips plus tap tempo circuitry. True analog delay in the modern era.
