Eterna
The shimmer reverb benchmark. Octave-up reflections and 40-second decay that helped define a category.
Before the Eterna, shimmer reverb was a studio trick—pitch-shifted feedback loops built from rack gear. Mr. Black put it in a pedal with three knobs and made it a category. The Eterna became the benchmark that other shimmer reverbs are measured against, the "original choice for pure shimmer effects" according to multiple gear publications.
Three controls do everything: Mix (dry/wet blend), Shimmer (level of octave-up harmonics layered into the reflections), and Decay (reverb length, up to a massive 40 seconds). With Shimmer off it functions as a clean plate-style reverb. As Shimmer increases, ethereal octave-up harmonics bloom through the decay—the sound that became essential for ambient, post-rock, and worship music.
True bypass. 9VDC center-negative, <60mA. Handmade in Portland, Oregon.
