The Dookie Drive V4 continues the signature two-amp pedal design with updated graphics. The circuit that captures Billie Joe Armstrong's Dookie tone remains unchanged from previous versions.
Two modified Marshall sounds blend together: scooped high-gain for aggression and midrange-focused crunch for definition. Output, Gain, Tone, Blend, and Scoop controls provide full access to the dual-amp architecture.
MXR's careful analysis of Armstrong's actual amps created this pedal circuit. The ability to blend the two amp voices mimics how Green Day mixed the album, adjusting ratios track by track.
