Gruff Result
Compact Triangle Big Muff V1 First clone with three-mode tone switch: original, low-cut, and hi-mid boost.
The Gruff Result is RoShi's accessible take on the rare 1966 Triangle Big Muff V1 First, developed using data from their premium Gruff V1 pedal. Where the V1 focuses on purist recreation, the Result adds practical features for modern band contexts while maintaining the core vintage fuzz character.
Three tone switch modes address common live scenarios: Triangle mode reproduces the original V1 First sound, Low Cut mode reduces bass to emphasize highs for cutting through dense mixes, and Hi-Mid Boost mode enhances midrange separation at higher gain settings. Standard Volume, Sustain (gain), and Fuzz (tone) controls provide classic Muff-style operation. ERO MKT1813 coupling capacitors handle the signal path, and all transistors are individually measured for consistency.
24mm potentiometers (larger than standard 16mm) improve control response, and carbon composite variable resistors maintain vintage tonal character. True bypass switching with 3mA current draw. The Gruff Result delivers vintage fuzz authenticity with band-friendly voicing options in a compact 81.5mm wide enclosure.
