Quartz V2
Advanced tap tempo and MIDI controller with 4 TRS outputs, expression input, BPM-to-CV conversion, metronome sync, and 128 customizable presets.
The Selah Effects Quartz Timer V2 represents significant evolution from original Quartz, transforming from simple tap tempo synchronizer into comprehensive pedalboard control center. Measuring 122mm x 66mm x 40mm, V2 maintains compact footprint while dramatically expanding functionality. It retains core tap tempo capabilities of V1 but adds sophisticated preset management, enhanced MIDI functionality, and multiple connectivity options that make it suitable for even most complex pedalboards.
V2 features four TRS jack outputs that can be configured for various functions, most commonly used as tap tempo outputs to synchronize time-based effects. However, these jacks can also function as inputs or outputs depending on configuration, providing exceptional flexibility. Pedal can sync any device that accepts Normally Open tap signals, Normally Closed tap signals, TRS tap configuration, MIDI Clock, or even custom MIDI messages sent every quarter note. Additionally, V2 includes metronome input that can translate standard audio metronome signal into BPM data, useful for syncing to drum machines or click tracks.
MIDI capabilities of Quartz V2 are extensive. Each of 128 available presets can send up to 20 custom MIDI messages, allowing you to create complex preset changes that affect multiple parameters across multiple pedals simultaneously. Pedal can send Program Changes, Control Changes, or any other MIDI message type, and it can both receive and pass through incoming MIDI data, making it easy to integrate into existing MIDI setups. USB Type-B port enables connection to computer for preset management and firmware updates via Quartz Timer computer application.
Additional features include expression pedal input with adjustable range and inversion settings, allowing you to convert expression movements into MIDI messages for controlling parameters on other pedals. Jack 3 can output BPM as 0-3V CV signal with user-settable range, enabling integration with modular synthesizers and other CV-controllable gear. V2 can accept up to six external footswitches via Q:Expander units, and presets can be named with up to 30 characters and assigned colors for easy identification. Pedal also includes built-in metronome for practice and performance. With these features, Quartz V2 became brain of modern pedalboards, offering studio-level control in live-performance-friendly format.
