The Sputnik I brings the Sputnik circuit back to a compact enclosure for the first time since 2013, introducing silicon transistors to the line. Hand-selected NOS silicon transistors deliver texture, warmth, and mojo with rock-solid stability and consistency.
No input transformer makes it more lively with wider frequency range. Range spans light overdrive to thick fuzz; Calibrate shapes tone. The Scan control from Sputnik IIb expands shaping while Drift mode delivers oscillation, octaves, and 8-bit artifacts.
Silicon provides improved stability, increased gain headroom, and dramatically reduced temperature sensitivity compared to germanium. True-bypass mechanical switching. Hand-soldered in Portland, Oregon.
