The Gale

The Gale V2 uses a custom-designed germanium discrete operational amplifier architecture built from NOS germanium transistors and diodes, with Wima/Kemet/Nichicon capacitors.

The Gain knob controls two discrete gain stages simultaneously for a huge sweep from light grit to full fuzz. The unique Shape control adjusts a high shelf in the clipping amplifier, morphing from sharp/high-passed to woolly/beefy. Shape and Tone interact, making this a surprisingly flexible distortion. Draws only 4.5mA.

True bypass, hand-wired in California with Switchcraft jacks. Standard 9V DC center-negative, negative ground power.
