Squidink
PLL multi-octave fuzz outputting ±2 and ±1 octaves with Fuzz Face topology and portamento mode.
Squidink blends a classic Fuzz Face topology (using modern low-gain silicon PNP transistors) with an analog Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) multi-octave generator. The PLL circuit outputs signals at -2, -1, +1, and +2 octaves from your input, giving you a wide palette of octave tones to mix with the fuzz.
The FUZZ knob controls gain, MIX balances fuzz and octave signals, and OCT MIX controls the ratio between high and low octave sources. In NORMAL mode, the TRACK knob and SLOW/FAST switch adjust octave tracking speed and character. Flip to WIGGLE mode and the octave signal portamentos (slides) to the target frequency—portamento time is controlled by the same TRACK knob and switch.
Built in Portland, OR, Squidink features high-impedance input buffering, low-impedance buffered output, and relay-controlled true bypass. It accepts 9-18V DC center-negative power and draws a maximum of 40mA. The combination of PLL octave generation with portamento control makes this a unique tool for synth-like fuzz tones.
