Malinconia
All-analog lo-fi machine with vinyl wobble, tube saturation, and three-section degradation.
TEFI Vintage Lab designed Malinconia as a comprehensive analog degradation tool, handmade in Italy to capture every lo-fi artifact of the analog era. Unlike digital emulations, Malinconia uses entirely analog circuitry to authentically reproduce vinyl wobble, tape warp, radio static, and tube-driven saturation. The pedal splits into three distinct sections for layered vintage character.
The left Vinyl Artifacts section adds wobble and warp depth, simulating the physical imperfections of old records and tape. The middle section controls Filter (resonant low-pass 1.5-3.5kHz), Bass Cut (1.1kHz turnover), Noise (radio/vinyl static), and Speed. The right Tube Character section provides Volume and Power Level saturation, emulating valve amplifier breakup. Eight total controls allow precise sculpting from subtle aging to extreme degradation.
True bypass relay switching with 470kohm input and 1kohm output impedance preserves signal integrity. The aluminum die-cast enclosure measures 120×95×55mm and weighs 440g. Running on 9V DC at 80mA, Malinconia works with guitar, bass, keys, and synthesizers. Perfect for producers seeking authentic vintage character without the expense and unreliability of actual vintage gear.
