Bad Cash
Flexible overdrive with Damping/Headroom/Presence, Symmetry/Class toggle switches—18mA@9-18V, 94x123.5x53mm, 9V.
Thorn SoundLabs launched in 2021 in Nashville by collective of engineers, touring musicians, and tone enthusiasts. The Bad Cash delivers flexible overdrive from smooth bluesy drive to intense rock grit through comprehensive control set: Drive, Damping (high-pass filter removing low-end from distorted signal for tight focus), Headroom (sets clean signal threshold before distortion, useful with tube amps near breakup), Volume, and 3-band EQ with Bass, Mid, Treble, and Presence. These signature controls appear across many Thorn pedals, providing advanced tonal shaping beyond standard gain/tone configurations.
Symmetry I/O switch adjusts distortion character (asymmetrical versus symmetrical clipping), Class AB/A switch selects between two circuit types for distinct tonal responses. Operates 9-18V with full potential realized at 18V (increased headroom, expanded dynamic range). Hardwired true bypass maintains signal integrity when disengaged. All-analog circuitry, sturdy metal housing approximately the size of two standard pedals.
Dimensions 94x123.5x53mm, 18mA current draw, 9-18V DC center-negative power. The Bad Cash targets players seeking versatile overdrive with professional-grade control flexibility, suitable for blues, rock, and any context where precise tonal shaping matters more than simple gain/tone operation.
