Tone Fox

Vaderin's first release, an overdrive/distortion designed to shape tone through a crisp-yet-warm gain stage featuring tight lows, thick mids, and present highs. Built around a NOS germanium transistor that becomes more prominent as gain increases.

The Gain knob drives the germanium transistor from fat, harmonically rich overdrive to articulate, pick-sensitive distortion. The Teeth control adjusts the distortion attack character, blending between heavy asymmetrically compressed distortion when rolled back and a less compressed, symmetrical distortion with more volume when turned up. Vol sets the output level.

Accepts 9V center-negative power supply or 9V battery. The germanium gain stage delivers touch-responsive dirt. Handmade near Philadelphia, PA.
