Overdriver
1971 Colorsound Overdriver clone (Dave Gilmour's Power Booster) with added volume control.
The Overdriver reproduces the legendary 1971 Colorsound Overdriver, famously used by David Gilmour as his "Power Booster" for iconic Pink Floyd guitar tones. This circuit delivers treble boost and overdrive characteristics that became synonymous with 70s British rock. Vick Audio added a volume control to the original single-knob design, providing more practical gain staging for modern setups.
The Colorsound Overdriver circuit is known for its bright, cutting treble boost that pushes tube amps into rich, singing overdrive. Hand-wired construction with US-made PCBs, 3PDT true bypass, Neutrik jacks, and powder-coated enclosure. Requires 9V DC via 2.1mm Boss-style jack (no battery clip). An essential tool for players chasing classic Gilmour tones or British treble boost sounds, produced in small batches until Vick Audio's closure in 2023.
