BB Preamp

The Xotic BB Preamp captures the legendary tone of the Marshall Bluesbreaker in a compact, highly-refined package. This versatile preamp/overdrive delivers everything from transparent clean boost through crunchy blues tones to thick, saturated leads. The circuit provides up to 30dB of clean boost when the Gain is set low, making it equally effective as a level booster or full-gain overdrive.

The two-band EQ offers ±15dB of bass and treble adjustment, allowing precise tonal sculpting across a wide range. The BB Preamp responds dynamically to playing touch and guitar volume adjustments, cleaning up beautifully when you roll back. Internal trim pots provide additional customization of the bass and gain response. The compact enclosure houses premium components including film capacitors and metal film resistors. True bypass switching maintains signal integrity, and 9-18V DC operation enables headroom adjustment. A benchmark preamp/overdrive that remains relevant years after its introduction.
