Octane
Octave-up fuzz with germanium diodes and ring mod undertones. Best for 12th fret solos.
The Octane 3 (typically listed as Octane) combines octave-up effects with germanium fuzz and ring modulator textures. It's an evolution of classic octavia circuits, adding more tonal options while maintaining that characteristic upper-octave singing.
Three controls shape the sound: IN (input drive), OUT (output level), and TONE which sweeps from mid-scooped mellow (clockwise) to aggressive midrange (counterclockwise). Germanium diodes and transistors in combination with a transformer create the octave effect.
Like traditional octave-up fuzzes, it tracks best with simple chords (octaves and fifths) and single notes at the 12th fret using the neck pickup. Complex voicings create intentional ring-mod chaos. Current draw is under 4mA with true bypass switching.
