Hold-Reverb

ZCat Pedals, a boutique builder known for creative digital reverb designs, created the Hold-Reverb to address a specific need: the ability to capture and sustain a reverb tail infinitely while continuing to play over it. Unlike typical reverb pedals that simply fade out, the Hold-Reverb can freeze the reverb decay at any point, creating ambient textures and soundscapes.

The pedal provides a medium-sized hall reverb as its base sound, with four control knobs: Dry Level, Hold Level, Reverb Level, and Decay. The Hold footswitch can operate in either latching or momentary mode (selectable at power-up), allowing you to capture a reverb loop and layer new playing on top. The analog dry path ensures your direct signal remains unaffected by digital processing. True bypass or buffered-with-trails modes are selectable via the main footswitch.
