Hoverla
NOS Soviet germanium treble booster with pickup simulator, bias control, and 3-way range switch.
Drunk Beaver is a Polish pedal company founded by Ukrainian builder Vitalii Bobrov, known for creative use of NOS Soviet and European components.
The Hoverla is named after Ukraine's highest Carpathian peak and cuts through just as sharply. Selected NOS Soviet germanium transistors with high gain and low leakage drive this treble booster circuit. A 3-way Range switch selects bass boost, full frequency, or treble boost modes. The pickup simulator with impedance control lets you place it anywhere in your chain without losing the input sensitivity classic germanium boosters depend on.
Master sets the output level, Impedance adjusts interaction with the pickup simulator, and Bias adds gain and grit by shifting the transistor operating point. Bypass the pickup simulator and it becomes fully input-sensitive like a vintage unit. Draws 12mA from 9V DC center-negative.
