1966 Series Boost

JHS approached the 1966 Series with reverence for circuit history. Josh Scott personally handwired each of the twenty Boost pedals, selecting components from his NOS collection—germanium transistors, carbon resistors, premium capacitors—to replicate the legendary Dallas Rangemaster that shaped British rock.

The Rangemaster defined treble boost in 1965, solving the dark, muddy character of overdriven Vox and Marshall amps. Brian May ran one always-on into his AC30 through Queen's early years. The simple circuit—a single germanium transistor and nine components—brightened dull tube amps and pushed them into singing saturation. Scott's version honors that simplicity with through-hole construction and improved shielding.

Positive ground voltage demands isolated power. The pedal requires placement first in your signal chain. Limited to twenty hand-signed units at $399 each, available exclusively through Sweetwater as part of the 1966 collection.
