Fluid Time MKII
Digitally-controlled BBD analog delay with five MN3208 chips offering up to 700ms delay, tap tempo, and special creative modes.
The Sinvertek Fluid Time MKII is pure analog delay pedal utilizing five re-issued MN3208 BBD (Bucket Brigade Device) chips, controlled by sophisticated digital microcontroller that provides modern functionality while maintaining completely analog signal path. This hybrid approach delivers warm, natural character of classic 1980s analog delays while offering features typically found only in digital units. Standard delay time reaches up to 700 milliseconds, with Tap Tempo mode enabling lo-fi BBD delay times up to 2 seconds, providing extensive rhythmic and ambient possibilities.
Control interface features three primary knobs: Blend (mixes dry and wet signals), Delay (sets delay time up to 750ms), and Regen (controls feedback/number of repeats). Pedal equipped with comprehensive tap tempo and tap division functions, allowing players to synchronize delay times to musical tempos and divide current delay time into different rhythmic subdivisions. Unique built-in FX Loop is positioned within effect path, enabling addition of modulation effects like chorus, wah, or flanger to delayed signal only, creating lush, evolving textures impossible with standard delay pedals.
Fluid Time MKII offers three distinct bypass modes: True Bypass for complete signal isolation when disengaged, Buffer Bypass utilizing pedal's super buffer circuit for signal preservation in long cable runs, and Trail Bypass which allows delay repeats to naturally decay after pedal switched off. Beyond normal delay operation, pedal features three special modes: Dual Time mode allows setting and switching between two fixed delay times during performance; Take Off mode creates dramatic feedback-based effects by increasing regeneration; and Step Over mode produces unusual, alien-like modulated delay effects. External control functionality via CTRL/CV jack dramatically expands pedal's capabilities, allowing control of bypass, tap tempo, special modes, and even CV pedal/generator control of delay time.
