Cephalopod II
Octave fuzz with tracking modes. Suboctave and upper octave effects in one pedal.
The Cephalopod II is a heavy octave-up fuzz similar to the Univox Super-Fuzz topology. It features a silicon impedance-matching input stage paired with germanium fuzz transistors — the silicon front end lets the germanium fuzz sing regardless of buffers or other pedals in the signal chain.
Powerful, creamy fuzz voice with a prominent octave-up effect and full, natural bottom end. Best pure octave results come from the neck pickup around the 12th fret, while the bridge pickup mixes more fundamental note. Turn guitar volume way down for grungy crossover distortion. All through-hole components with carbon-composition resistors.
Key upgrade over the original Cephalopod is buffer compatibility via the silicon input stage. Handmade in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 9V DC, standard negative-tip.
